Subscriber Letter

It’s always nice to hear from subscribers. Particularly when they write to let me know how RodMaker Magazine has increased their rod building knowledge and provided them with greater enjoyment out on the water.

The following photo and letter from RodMaker subscriber Shawn Murphy arrived in today’s mail:

Your magazine has been a tremendous help in my pursuit of rod building perfection.  I have a long way to go but recently had an experience to keep me motivated and continue in the craft.  Last year I made a rod for a friend who lives in Key West.  He recently invited me to join him for a few days of fishing and on our first day he landed this Barracuda with the rod I made for him.  Watching my friend fight this fish with a rod that I made was just too cool and I wanted to share the picture.  This is why I make fishing rods… we spend hours upon hours learning from one another, trading ideas and sharing experiences but in the end, at least for me, it’s all about catching a fish.  I just want to say thanks to you and the Rodmaker Magazine subscribers. The advice and knowledge I gain from this publication is appreciated.

Shawn Murphy, Ocean City, MD

You’re right Shawn… at the end of the day it’s still all about fishing and having fun with the rods we build. Thanks for sharing your experience.
